Interpretations do not always equal facts,
but interpretations ALWAYS equal opinions.

I really think that G.W's picture next to a monkey is hilarious, but does this mean that Obama's picture next to monkey can not funny because of racial history and implications?

I knew two cousins, both African Americans, and one called the other "Kong" because he felt he looked like King Kong (and believe me, he did). Does this mean that the other cousin was racist?

Making fun of people is a mean business that is sometimes funny, but always mean. As long as one thinks that it is alright to make fun of others, then one must admit that when a special privilege circle is drawn around those that can't be made fun of based on race that this act is simply racist. Maybe not racist in a bad way (or maybe it is), but racist none the less.

People need to hold EVERYONE to the same standards, black or white. To apply different standards to people based on race is the definition of racism. Whatever you think about the Obama-Curious George thing (and for whatever reasons valid or not) is one thing, but if you do not hold these values consistently to everyone, means that you are a hypocrite pure and simple, unless of course you think that some people are "inferior" and need special privileges.

While there is a difference between the compariosons of Bush or Obama to Curious George (one is subjectively more offensive than the other), the premise of this comparison is to ridicule, which is mean just like almost all other name-calling. But, the real difference is that those who hold different standards for people based on their race do so because that deep inside, they think that some people are "inferior" and need special priviliges and therefore that they are superior. This is a racism (a paternal racism but racism just the same) just as bad as any other and probably worse because it is hidden behind a guise "doing good." At least the person who just ridicules is mean, but at least he's honest and you know from whence he came while the other pretends to be something that they aren't out of guilt and or feelings superiority.
